Inheritance & succession

What you built over a lifetime should continue the way you want.

Homes, land, savings and a family business pass to the next generation more smoothly when there is a plan. L+A builds it with you, in confidence, and every decision stays yours.

Who it is for

Families and business owners in Greece who want their property and their company to pass to their children in an orderly way, with the tax burden considered in advance and without leaving siblings to settle matters among themselves.

How the work is structured

The work proceeds in three stages, at the pace the family chooses.

  1. 01

Mapping: what you own, in whose name and with which encumbrances, including homes, land, deposits, businesses and insurance policies; land-registry records, titles and leases; and what each family member is entitled to. You receive a note in plain language.

  2. 02

Structuring: who takes the family home, the land and the business, and how everyone is treated fairly; gifts to children over time while you keep control; a will and, where it fits, a family company with rules for decisions; provision so that the family has liquidity and nothing is left without direction. We present scenarios with the tax implications of each, and nothing is done without your signature.

  3. 03

Continuity: a partner of the firm who knows the family, a meeting every year and whenever something changes, such as a marriage, a birth, a sale or a new law, and support for your children when their turn comes.

01

What you receive

A clear record of what you own, a plan you have chosen among concrete options, the documents that put it into effect, and a partner who remains available to the family over time.

02

How the engagement works

The first step is a private conversation. The scope of each stage and the fee are agreed in writing before work begins, and you decide whether and when to move to the next stage.

03

Heirs living abroad

Many families have members outside Greece. The firm also publishes a guide for heirs abroad who are dealing with an inheritance in Greece, available in the Inheritance guide section of this site.

FAQ

Questions clients ask

How do I pass property to my children in Greece?

The usual routes are parental gifts during your lifetime, a will, or a combination, sometimes with a family company. The right mix depends on what you own, the family's circumstances and the tax position, which is why we start by mapping the property.

Do I keep control if I start transferring property to my children now?

A plan can be structured so that transfers happen over time while you retain control. Nothing is signed without your decision.

How can I avoid disputes between my children over the inheritance?

Clear decisions taken now, discussed with the family and recorded in a will or agreed rules, leave much less room for disagreement later.
